Your data, your call
Delete your account
You can delete your Memoroam account yourself, at any time, without asking us. This page explains how, what gets destroyed, and what to do if you cannot sign in.
Deleting from the app
- Open Memoroam and go to the Collection tab, the passport icon at the far right of the bottom bar
- Tap the settings cog at the top
- Choose Delete Account
- Type DELETE to confirm
Deletion happens immediately. It is permanent, there is no grace period, and it cannot be undone or recovered by you or by us.
If you cannot sign in
Email support@memoroam.com from the email address on the account. We verify the request against that address and respond within one month, or within 45 days if you are in California.
What deletion destroys
Permanently, with no recovery:
- Your trips, itineraries and travel history
- Your photos and memories, including the original uploads
- Your passport, stamps, stickers and everything else you collected
- Your Starlight balance and transaction history
- Your friend connections, and the records of trip plans you have sent or received (a friend who already accepted one of your plans keeps their own copy, as part of their trip)
- Your profile, and your account's link to the Google or Apple sign-in you used
- Our purchase records for your account, including the copy held by RevenueCat, the service that processes in-app purchases for us
If you signed in with Apple, we also ask Apple to remove Memoroam from your Apple ID's list of apps that use Sign in with Apple. Memoroam never holds a password for you: sign-in is handled entirely by Google or Apple.
Virtual items are forfeited when you delete your own account, and no refund is due for them, except where your statutory rights say otherwise.
Subscriptions are not cancelled by deleting
A Collector's Pass is billed by the App Store or Google Play, not by us, so deleting your account does not cancel it. Cancel it with the store first, or you will keep being charged after your account is gone. The app reminds you on the delete screen if your Pass is active.
- App Store: Settings, then your name, then Subscriptions
- Google Play: the Play Store app, then your profile picture, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions
What is kept after deletion, and for how long
- Support tickets, if you contacted us: the ticket is kept with your name, email address and message replaced by "[deleted]", so nothing in it identifies you. Our internal support channel only ever receives a ticket reference.
- Your app store's records of what you bought are kept by Apple or Google under their own policies, for refunds, fraud prevention and the law. We cannot delete those.
- Usage counts and crash reports already sent were never linked to your account, so they cannot be found or deleted by account. They remain as anonymous technical records until our providers' standard expiry.
- Server logs at our hosting providers may briefly hold technical records, for the limited period their standard practices allow.
- Records the law requires us to keep, if any apply, for as long as the law requires and no longer.
Nothing else survives. Our support team can tell you what is held against your address.
Deleting individual items instead
You do not have to delete everything. Individual trips, memories, notes and highlights can each be removed in the app at any time, leaving the rest of your account intact.
